PILOT CAMPAIGN “REUSE WEDNESDAY” KICKS OFF IN BERN

The city of Bern has officially launched the pilot campaign “reUSE Wednesday”, an initiative led by reCIRCLE AG within the EU-funded project STOPP, aiming to show how reusable packaging can become the new standard in the takeaway sector. The launch took place on 5 November at Wow Momo Takeaway, where reusable containers will take centre stage every Wednesday throughout November.

The project seeks to raise customer awareness about the simplicity and benefits of reusable packaging, making it more visible in restaurants through dedicated materials and social media promotion. With this initiative, reCIRCLE and the STOPP project take an important step towards a circular economy in the catering industry and the reduction of plastic waste.

According to Ursina Haslebacher, project manager at reCIRCLE, “ReUSE Wednesday shows that sustainable behaviour can easily become part of everyday life – and our goal is to turn it into a nationwide movement.”
