STOPP, at CIRCUL-A-BILITY with a threefold approach: Reusability, Recyclability, and Consumer Behavior
STOPP’s partners showcased our innovative approach to sustainable food packaging at the 4th CIRCUL-A-BILITY Conference, held in Aarhus, Denmark from September 11th to 13th, 2024. With 104 participants from 30 countries, the event aimed to harmonise the packaging value chain, aligning perfectly with STOPP’s mission to revolutionise plastic packaging by emphasising the “5 Rs”: Refuse, Reduce, Redesign, Reuse, and Recycle.
Key STOPP contributors included Farzin Javanshour (VTT, Finland), who presented a poster on traceable and sustainable plastic packaging, and Angelos Balatas-Lekkas (University of Vaasa, Finland), whose presentation focused on consumer behaviour in reusable packaging in Finland. Jeanette Morath from ReCIRCLE, Switzerland, also represented STOPP as a panel speaker, discussing reuse perspectives in packaging. These contributions reflect STOPP’s commitment to reducing environmental impacts from plastic waste in food packaging, in alignment with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive.
