STOPP PROJECT PRESENTED AT THE PLASTIC RECYCLERS EUROPE ANNUAL MEETING IN VALENCIA

On 26–27 November 2025, the STOPP project took centre stage at the Plastic Recyclers Europe Annual Meeting in Valencia, Spain, where more than 300 key value-chain actors gathered to exchange insights on the latest market developments in plastics recycling and circular packaging. The event brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers for two days of high-level discussions on innovation and sustainability in the polymer sector.

Representing STOPP, Jean-Emile Potaufeux and Augusto Bruno, Technical Managers at Plastic Recyclers Europe, delivered dedicated presentations on the project—focusing especially on the progress achieved within Work Package 3. Their intervention highlighted advances in Design for Recycling and the development of Testing Protocols for contact-sensitive packaging, demonstrating STOPP’s contribution to improving recyclability, material safety, and the overall circularity of food-contact plastics.

The STOPP presentations took place across both the PP/PO and PS workshops, enabling targeted exchanges with specialised audiences. The Plastic Recyclers Europe Annual Meeting offered an exceptional opportunity to showcase the project’s achievements, engage with stakeholders across the plastics value chain, and strengthen collaboration toward more effective and harmonised recycling practices in Europe.
