STOPP GIVES A MASTERCLASS AT THE REUSE ECONOMY EXPO IN PARIS

On May 27, 2025, the STOPP project took centre stage at the REUSE Economy Expo in Paris with a compelling masterclass titled “Collaboration as Key for Reuse and Circular Economy.” The session, led by Ursina Haslebacher of Swiss reuse operator reCIRCLE and Miro Hostettler, highlighted the vital role of cooperation across sectors in making reuse systems a tangible reality in Europe’s food packaging landscape.

During the talk, Haslebacher shared her hands-on experience with STOPP and underscored the urgency of moving from individual efforts to systemic, collaborative strategies. Emphasising that reusable packaging must transition from niche to norm, she presented STOPP’s cross-disciplinary research approach – uniting behavioural scientists, business model experts, material researchers, and more – to deliver open-access tools, models, and data for driving circularity at scale.

The masterclass concluded with a strong call to action: industry actors, from large operators to grassroots innovators, are invited to join STOPP’s Multi-Actor Community. Through this collaborative platform, participants can co-create studies and pilot actions, contributing to the shared mission of replacing single-use packaging and fostering resilient, reusable systems across Europe.
