STOPP PROJECT SHOWCASES CIRCULAR PACKAGING SOLUTIONS AT THE REUSE ECONOMY EXPO IN PARIS

The STOPP project took part in the REuse Economy Expo, held in Paris on 19–20 May, joining innovators, industry representatives, policymakers and circular economy stakeholders working to accelerate the transition towards reusable and more sustainable packaging systems.

The project was represented by Project Coordinator Milad Mosallaei from VTT, together with Erwan Mouza from the University of Vaasa and reCIRCLE representatives Ursina Haslebacher and Miro Hostettler. Throughout the event, STOPP was showcased at the reCIRCLE booth, where partners presented the project’s collaborative and science-driven approach to reducing plastic packaging pollution and enabling scalable reuse solutions across the packaging value chain.

A key activity during the Expo was the launch of the STOPP Brand Owner Bootcamp, an initiative designed to support companies in moving from awareness to the practical implementation of reusable packaging systems. In addition, STOPP organised the interactive workshop Fresque of Reusable Packaging, a hands-on session aimed at helping participants better understand the current packaging system, connect with peers across the sector, and identify practical opportunities to accelerate reuse.

The event also highlighted the growing political and institutional momentum behind circularity and reuse, with the visit of President Emmanuel Macron underlining the increasing relevance of reusable packaging at the highest policy level. STOPP would like to thank everyone who visited the booth, joined the discussions and contributed to the exchange of ideas on how to build more circular packaging systems for the future.
